Prospira Advising is built on the principle of intentional, highly personalized guidance. Every aspect of our work—from initial consultations to final application submissions—is thoughtfully designed to ensure each student/client receives the deep, individualized attention they deserve.

My experience:

For over a decade, I've dedicated my career to demystifying the college admissions process for students and families. I've lived it from both sides—as an admissions officer making decisions and as a counselor guiding students through them.

After graduating from Pitzer College with a degree in English, I worked in the admissions offices of highly selective institutions including Barnard College, New York University, Fordham University, and UC Berkeley, where I reviewed thousands of applications and sat on hundreds of admissions committees. I know what colleges are looking for, how decisions are made, and what makes an application stand out. But more importantly, I understand that behind every application is a student with dreams, concerns, and a unique story to tell.

That experience led me to work directly with high school students as a Director of College Counseling at two independent schools, where I sat across the table from students and their families—listening to their hopes, easing their anxieties, and guiding them through everything from building college lists to crafting compelling essays. I've helped students discover schools they'd never heard of and gain admission to their dream universities, coaching them through the entire application process from start to finish.

I also spent three years as a University Technical Recruiter for a fin-tech company, extending my work with students into their college and early career years. Working with college students seeking internships and entry-level roles, I developed deep expertise in career counseling, interview coaching, and helping students effectively present their skills and potential to employers. Assisting students with interview preparation is one of my favorite activities.  

I founded Prospira Advising because I believe every student deserves knowledgeable, personalized guidance. School counselors do incredibly important work, but they often juggle hundreds of students with limited time for each student and family. Through Prospira, students and families receive the dedicated, one-on-one attention that makes all the difference—time to dive deep into each student's unique interests and strengths, craft compelling essays, research the right-fit colleges, and develop tailored strategies. This personalized approach means students feel supported rather than overwhelmed, with a trusted advisor who knows their story inside and out.

I believe both the college admissions process and the job search process can be rewarding and enriching, leaving students more confident and self-assured. I make this possible by placing students at the helm of their journey, providing honest guidance, and establishing goals that are both meaningful and attainable.
